Mister Mack

Mack, the gentle Scottish Terrier, joined our lives in June 2004. The Humane League of Lancaster County rescued him from a puppy mill in Pennsylvania. After a short stay with terrific foster "parents", Jim and Linda Cook of May’s Landing, New Jersey, and a thorough screening process by the Scottish Terrier Club of Greater New York, he was entrusted to us. Our thanks to STC rescue coordinators Jim, Linda and Erica Cerny for their commitment to giving Scotties like Mack a new lease on life. They continue to provide invaluable support and share in Mack's progress.

Within a week of arriving on the farm, Mr Mack found his voice and learned how to climb stairs. These days he comes charging for the house whenever we shout, "TREAT"!

According to the vet, he is between six and eight years old. However, one would never guess that from his boundless energy and puppy-like playfulness. Besides chasing chipmunks, squirrels, deer and gophers, his favorite pastime is to watch the world go by from the bay window or the window sill. He also loves his toy carrot and enjoys playing with multiple tennis balls.

Mr Mack has free reign on the farm and, when the weather is good, he spends hours patrolling the perimeter of the property and rooting for critters. He comes home every so often to check that everything and everyone is still where he left it/them.

This short legged Scotsman is well travelled. In recent months he has seen the Finger Lakes, Niagara Falls, Lake Ontario, the Green Mountains of Vermont, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Acadia National Park in Maine and Boston, Massachusetts.
